SEIROCK-YA RAMEN

I love Japanese foods! (Almost) Any kind of Japanese food always raise my appetite, including Ramen!

Who does not love ramen? It's savory, tasty, fulfilling and belly-warming especially if you eat it during rainy or cold weather! YUM! However authentic ramen from Japan mostly included "pork" in its ingredient (whether it is Tonkotsu or not). Many times traveling to Japan I always wanted to try the authentic ramen but I couldn't since they are not "Halal" *sad face*.

When I heard about Seirock-ya claiming their brand as "Halal Ramen" I got very excited!! However sometimes "Non-Pork" ramen does not taste as good as the "Pork" one, so my expectation when visiting Seirock-ya was kind of average.

They have several outlets already in Jakarta and Serpong. The one I visited was in Radio Dalam (Near Beer Garden Radio Dalam / Gandaria Area). I paid a visit after work around 6.30 pm and all the tables were unoccupied.

They have 2 floors with upstairs a more spacious one. Be noted that all floors remain a non-smoking area.

Their decorations are typical Japanese food shop with wooden table and chairs with a semi-open kitchen on the left side where we can see the chef preparing our meals.

For super-spicy food lovers out there!

Their Extreme and Miso Ramen Menu
Basically their main menu is Ramen (Chicken Ramen). They offer 3 types of broth to be served with your ramen: Shoyu, Shio and Miso (depends on your preference). However the waiter suggested us that we opted for the "Extreme" Tori Paitan Ramen.

Extreme means the broth is thicker, more savory and get more 'kick' in it! Of course I went with the waiter's recommendation right away!

You can choose your noodle firmness: Thick or thin. I opted for the thin one since for me that's why ramen noodle should be, while Mr. A went with the thicker one. Well, go with anything you like! turns out both noodle are great!

Extreme Tori Paitan Ramen
You can choose your topping also, whether with Tamago (soft-boiled eggs), Chashu (sliced chicken meat) or the special one (tamago, chashu, quail).

If you like your food to be spicy, you can have the "spicy" one. However since I cannot eat that many chili I asked whether they can separate the chili (and turned out they can! yeay!!) So I just added a bit of chili little by little based on our liking.

Other recommendations are their GYOZA, I ordered the SPICY GYOZA and OH BOY, Was it amazing! The grilled gyoza skin was perfect but still soft, the filling was quite generous and the spicy-savory taste was DELISH!

At first I did not want to order the Tori Karaage, but the staff said it was 30% discount that day so yeah why not?! It was different than other karaage I had in most Japanese resto, the meat was too thick and it was just okay.

Beside Ramen, they also have Tsukemen, several kinds of donburi menu and also some other light bites to choose from.

Orange Soda!
After slurping the whole bowl of thick and savory broth of tori paitan ramen, we ended our meals with this Orange Soda drink which also recommended by the staff. The presentation was cute! and it was definitely completed our taste bud with its sweet-citrusy taste. Nice!

For me personally, Seirock-Ya has just crowned THE BEST CHICKEN RAMEN in Jakarta so far!

The broth which comes in thick side (but not too milky, if you know what I mean), the noodle firmness was just perfect and the toppings were complementing each other in the right proportion!

Definitely will comeback here again for their delicious ramen and to try other menu as well!
